​​On day one of his term, President Biden announced his legislative proposals for immigration.  On February 18, 2021 , Senator Menendez (D-NJ) shared text of the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021 to “provide an earned path to citizenship, to address the root causes of migration and responsibly manage the southern border, and to reform the immigrant visa system, and for other purposes.” The bill is expected to be introduced in the Senate on 2/22/21. That same day, an identical bill was introduced in the House by Representative Sánchez (D-CA).  

It is important to note that the bills do not become a law until after they have passed through both houses of Congress and are signed by the President.  Until this happens you are unable to gain any benefits under the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021.  ​
